Mary Beth Gary, CPA, CFP® - Managing Director

Mary Beth Gary has over 40 years experience in public accounting. Mary Beth graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgetown University in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and attended Oxford University in England.

She is Managing Director of Oliver & Company, P.A. and Chairman of Oliver & Company, P.A.'s Quality Control committee. Mary Beth is also a Certified Financial Planner Her professional experience includes financial and tax planning and tax preparation as well as supervision of numerous engagements for commercial, not-for-profit organizations, and governmental entities. Other Firm responsibilities include federal and state tax return preparation for individuals and businesses as well as management consulting and planned services.

Professional memberships include American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Mary Beth is a member of the Hernando County Chamber of Commerce and the Citrus County Chamber of Commerce. She has previous involvement in many professional and civic organizations, including President of the Brooksville Rotary Club, founding Director of the Hernando County United Way and Associate Member of the Hernando County Manufacturing Association.

Pamela Nix, CPA - Director

Pam graduated from St. Leo University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting. She joined the firm in January 2002. She received her CPA license in 2013 and has 20 plus years experience in accounting, payroll, sales tax and both business and individual taxation, with an emphasis in tax planning.

She became a director in January 2014.

Pam is an active member of the Suncoast Trail Blazers and Florida Trail Riders.

Professional memberships include Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

John Martz, MBA, CFP® - Tax Manager

John graduated from Stetson University with a Bachelor of Business Administration, concentration in Finance. In June of 2012, he graduated with distinction from Keller Graduate School of Management with his Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. He received his Certificate of Financial Planning in 2017 and has been member of the National Association of Plan Advisors and National Association of Financial Planning Advisors since 2018. John has ten years of experience preparing tax returns, and joined Oliver & Company, P.A. in February 2013.

Karen Dzafic - Administrative Assistant

Karen has been with Oliver & Company, P.A. since 1984. She has a broad range of experience in accounting, employee payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and marketing.

Shannon Hull – Accounting Manager

Shannon graduated from the University of South Florida in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science majoring in accounting.  She has more than 20 years of experience in public accounting and corporate accounting including tax return preparation, financial statement audits, consulting and analytical skills for planning, budgeting and forecasting for businesses in a wide range of industries, including a role managing the finance department for an organization with multimillion-dollar international sales.  Shannon is recognized to practice before the IRS as an Enrolled Agent.

Kara Lachance-Bookkeeper

Kara graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 2008 with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. She has 14 years of experience in public accounting. She is responsible for preparing financial statements, payroll, sales tax, and business and individual tax returns for clients.

Barbara Lee Breesmen - Administrative Assistant

Barbara graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Science. She joined Oliver & Company, PA in 2018 as an administrative assistant. She assists the accounting staff in various areas, including data entry, file management, processing and assembly and , client service.

Rial Yn Mau Rent - Book Keeper

Ria graduated from the University of San Carlos in 2002 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Accountancy. She has over 14 years of Accounting and Administrative experience. Ria and her family recently moved to Spring Hill, Florida from Buffalo, New York. She worked as an Accounting Manager for more than 5 years in one of the largest transportation companies in Western New York.
